ANXIETY AND
TRAUMA THERAPY
I specialize in helping individuals overcome anxiety and trauma. I’m here to help you learn how to effectively manage the constant worry, intrusive thoughts, and perfectionism. Trauma can change how you once viewed yourself, others, and the world and I want to help you take back that power and find peace within even in the midst of an imperfect world.
The meaning behind Collective Mind is two-fold. It is my goal to help you get to a place where your thoughts and emotions feel collected and you feel more content and centered. Collective Mind is also intended to be a practice where we put our minds together to provide you the best healing experience. You are the expert on your experiences and I am the expert with the tools to help you achieve the change you are wanting!

With over a decade in community mental health, I specialize in supporting individuals facing complex trauma, helping them build coping skills to reshape their perspectives and restore a sense of safety and control. My approach to therapy is eclectic and tailored, designed to provide unique and effective care for each person. I hold a Master’s degree in Mental Health Social Work and am licensed in both Nebraska and Iowa.
I believe mental health is foundational to well-being in all areas of life. I strive to create a welcoming, collaborative space where you can feel comfortable and safe to explore your goals.
Therapeutic Modalities I Utilize
-
EMDR- Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy: An evidence based trauma treatment that utilizes bilateral stimulation to reprocess traumatic events and the beliefs we hold around them. EMDR helps individuals to create more adaptive neural connections around traumatic events and emotions and has been proven to significantly reduce distress associated with these traumatic events in a fairly short period of time.
-
CBT-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy: Examines the impact our thoughts have on our emotions and behaviors and works to reframe and restructure our thoughts to better serve us.
-
Supportive Therapy: Utilizes support, empathy, and validation to help guide you through managing your symptoms.
-
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy: Works to accept our full range of emotions by relating to our internal experiences in a different way instead of fighting or trying to avoid them.
-
Internal Family Systems Therapy: IFS utilizes the lens that we all have different parts or subpersonalities within us that have developed certain roles over time, much similar to different roles within an actual family system. IFS works to get to know these parts and their needs while working to help integrate them in order to reduce maladaptive coping skills.

Self Pay:
There are many benefits of self pay for therapy including flexibility, control and privacy. You have more control over which therapist you see and how long you participate in services. Your therapist has more flexibility around your treatment that is often limited by insurance companies. By investing in your mental health a greater sense of ownership and commitment leads to better outcomes in treatment.
